BERLIN — Kenya just rolled out a flashy new tourism campaign on the world stage — and it’s all about reminding travelers why the country calls itself the “Origin of Wonder.”
The big reveal went down at ITB Berlin, the planet’s largest travel industry gathering, where tourism officials launched the global campaign “Experience Wonder.”
The campaign, spearheaded by the Kenya Tourism Board, is basically Kenya telling the world: if you want epic wildlife, ancient history, jaw-dropping landscapes and rich culture all in one place… come here.
Tourism bosses say the pitch goes deeper than just safaris and beach holidays. The country is leaning into its reputation as humanity’s starting point, pointing to prehistoric discoveries in the Great Rift Valley and fossil sites around Lake Turkana.
But let’s be real — Kenya’s biggest flex is still the scenery and wildlife.
Think the famous wildebeest migration in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the towering peaks of Mount Kenya, and postcard-perfect beaches along the Indian Ocean.
Tourism leaders say the new push will spotlight everything from luxury safari lodges and conservation tourism to cultural experiences with local communities.
The move is also about getting Kenya’s tourism engine roaring again after pandemic travel slowdowns — and standing out in a crowded African travel market.
