Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz and Ugandan singer Aziz Azion have taken a possible musical collaboration a step closer after exchanging phone contacts backstage at a Comedy Store UG concert.

The two musicians were spotted sharing their contacts during the event, following Diamond’s renewed public expression of interest in working with the Ugandan singer.

Although the exchange has generated excitement among fans, neither artist has confirmed plans for a joint project.

The development follows comments Diamond made during a press conference ahead of his performance at Comedy Store UG on Thursday night, where he spoke openly about his admiration for Aziz and his desire to record a song with him.

During the press conference, Diamond made it clear that his interest in Aziz goes beyond a general desire to work with Ugandan musicians.

He singled out the singer as an artist whose music he enjoys and said he would welcome an opportunity to meet him and explore the possibility of recording together.

I would love to do a song with Aziz (Azion). He’s my favourite artist. I love his music as well. I have never met him, trust me, but I’d love to meet him and maybe work with him.

The statement was significant because Diamond also acknowledged that he had never met Aziz before making the remarks.

The subsequent exchange of phone contacts backstage brought the two artists into direct contact, although it remains unclear whether they discussed a specific music project.

For now, the development offers a possible starting point rather than confirmation that a song is on the way.

The latest comments were not the first time Diamond had spoken about wanting to work with Aziz Azion.

His latest remarks came during his press conference ahead of the Comedy Store UG performance, giving the collaboration possibility fresh attention.

Diamond’s admiration for Aziz also places the Ugandan singer in the spotlight, particularly because the interest came directly from one of Tanzania’s prominent music stars.

The two artists come from neighbouring countries with music industries that have continued to attract attention across the East African region.

A partnership between them would therefore bring together Ugandan and Tanzanian musical talent, should the discussions eventually result in a recording.

For Aziz, the backstage meeting marks an opportunity to connect directly with an artist who has publicly praised his music.

Diamond’s description of him as his favourite artist was one of the clearest indications of the level of admiration he expressed during the press conference.

The immediate question is whether the contact exchange will lead to further discussions and, eventually, a studio collaboration.

That possibility remains open, but there is no confirmed timeline for the two artists to begin recording or release music together.

Diamond has made his interest known, while the backstage encounter provides an opportunity for the two singers to communicate directly.

Until either artist announces a project, claims that a collaboration is underway would be premature.

For now, the Diamond Platnumz and Aziz Azion collaboration remains a possibility built on the Tanzanian star’s repeated public interest and their recent exchange of contacts. Whether that meeting eventually produces a song is something fans will have to wait for.
