Flavia Tumusiime denies Kasuku’s claims over Dembe FM contract renewal

Flavia Tumusiime, Nation Media Group’s Head of Broadcast, has denied claims by media personality Kasuku that she called him for contract renewal talks before his departure from Dembe FM and Spark TV.

Kasuku made the allegations during a podcast appearance, claiming Tumusiime contacted him about renewing his contract but later instructed the head of security not to allow him onto the premises.

“This is false!” Tumusiime wrote in response to a post about the claims on X, formerly Twitter. Kasuku challenged her denial, insisting that they had met to discuss his contract.

Explaining his account of the events, Kasuku said: “Flavia Tumusiime called me for talks to renew my contract but she turned around and allegedly told the head of security not to let me into the premises,”

He later questioned Tumusiime’s denial, asking whether she had called him and whether they had met at her office at Serena.

“What is false Flavia! Did you call me for a meeting or not? Didn’t we meet in your office at Serena for almost two hours? Didn’t you tell me about the contract and I said I was done? Didn’t the head of security call me and tell me whatever I said there? What is false?”

The two accounts remain in disagreement. The available information does not independently establish whether the meeting occurred or whether Tumusiime instructed security personnel to deny Kasuku entry.

Kasuku was among employees laid off from Dembe FM and Spark TV during a restructuring exercise in 2024.

Both platforms are owned by Nation Media Group, where Tumusiime serves as Head of Broadcast.

Although Kasuku has linked his account of the departure to alleged contract renewal discussions, the available information does not establish whether the meeting influenced his exit or was directly connected to the restructuring.

Details of the alleged contract discussions, including its terms and expiry date, have not been provided.

The head of security mentioned by Kasuku has not commented in the available information, and no separate statement from NMG addressing the dispute has been provided.

Since leaving the traditional media platforms, Kasuku has focused on digital broadcasting through his YouTube channel, Kasuku Live.

The channel features celebrity interviews, entertainment discussions and trending stories, allowing him to continue producing entertainment content online.

The latest exchange has renewed attention on his departure from the two NMG-owned platforms, although no verified audience figures have been provided for his YouTube channel.

Further comment from Tumusiime or Nation Media Group could clarify their position on the alleged meeting and the security instructions described by Kasuku.

The available information does not identify the podcast where he made the allegations or establish when it was published.

For now, the claims about the meeting and the alleged restriction on Kasuku’s access to the premises remain unverified.

The dispute between Kasuku and Flavia Tumusiime has brought renewed attention to his 2024 departure from Dembe FM and Spark TV, while his subsequent work on Kasuku Live marks his move into digital broadcasting.
