Miss Universe Uganda has secured a new corporate partner ahead of its inaugural grand finale, with V&A Sherry announcing a collaboration focused on promoting women’s leadership, confidence and positive community impact.
The partnership comes as Uganda prepares to crown its first representative to the global Miss Universe competition during the pageant’s grand finale on August 1.
The finale will be held at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, marking a milestone for a competition that was officially launched in May.
Organisers say the inaugural pageant goes beyond traditional beauty contests by placing equal emphasis on leadership, advocacy and community engagement.
The competition is organised by Joram Model Management and is expected to produce Uganda’s first contestant for the international Miss Universe pageant.
The latest partnership adds another milestone to preparations for the country’s first Miss Universe Uganda grand finale.
According to V&A Sherry, the collaboration is designed to celebrate women who inspire change while encouraging confidence and leadership among contestants.
The brand says it intends to use the partnership to amplify the contestants’ stories and journeys throughout the competition.
It also plans to highlight qualities such as resilience, compassion, authenticity and the courage to lead.
According to the organisers, the partnership brings together two platforms that share a commitment to recognising women whose influence extends beyond the pageant stage.
That approach reflects the broader vision of the competition, which places advocacy and community engagement alongside beauty.
The partnership also builds on V&A Sherry’s previous involvement in initiatives that support women.
The brand has maintained a longstanding partnership with the Miss Uganda Foundation.
According to V&A Sherry, such collaborations are intended to encourage women to embrace their individuality, pursue their ambitions and make meaningful contributions to society.
The latest announcement extends that commitment to Uganda’s newest national beauty pageant as it prepares to debut on the international stage.
Roy Ronald Tumwizere, Brand Manager for V&A Sherry at Uganda Breweries Limited, said the partnership aligns with the company’s wider vision of supporting women beyond the competition itself.
“Miss Universe Uganda provides a platform where confidence meets leadership. Supporting this journey aligns with our commitment to celebrating women who are pursuing their dreams, using their voices and creating positive change in their communities.”
His remarks place leadership and community impact at the centre of the collaboration rather than focusing solely on the competition.
V&A Sherry also said it hopes Uganda’s first Miss Universe representative will embody authenticity, purpose and resilience when she eventually competes internationally.
However, the brand did not provide additional details about how the partnership will be implemented.
The inaugural edition of Miss Universe Uganda represents a new chapter for Uganda’s beauty pageant industry.
Unlike established competitions, this edition will determine the country’s first-ever representative to the global Miss Universe contest.
That distinction gives the August 1 finale added significance for contestants, organisers and pageant followers alike.
The event also reflects growing interest in competitions that combine beauty with leadership, advocacy and community engagement.
By incorporating those elements into its format, Miss Universe Uganda seeks to recognise contestants for more than their appearance.
The pageant’s organisers have consistently highlighted those values since the competition was launched in May.
The next confirmed milestone is the Miss Universe Uganda grand finale on August 1 at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
During the event, Uganda will crown its first representative to compete at the international Miss Universe pageant.
Several details, however, remain unconfirmed.
The organisers have not announced the financial terms or duration of V&A Sherry’s partnership with Miss Universe Uganda.
The number of contestants participating in the inaugural competition has also not been disclosed.
Likewise, no additional campaigns or activities connected to the partnership have been announced.
As anticipation builds for the inaugural Miss Universe Uganda finale, the partnership with V&A Sherry adds further momentum to preparations for the historic event.
With the competition centred on leadership, advocacy and community engagement, attention will now turn to August 1, when Uganda crowns its first representative to the global Miss Universe pageant at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
