The Miss Uganda 2026 finalists stepped away from their demanding boot camp routine on Friday night for an evening of music, dancing and relaxation hosted by V&A Sherry.
The Girls’ Night Out was held at the Miss Uganda Boot Camp House in Buwaate, Wakiso District, giving the contestants time to unwind after weeks of training, rehearsals and other preparations for the national competition.
The evening brought a different atmosphere from the structured routine of the Miss Uganda boot camp, with DJs Patra and Krusher providing music while House of Motion from Trroy Studios led the contestants through dance sessions.
For the finalists, the event was also an opportunity to spend time together outside the competitive environment of the pageant.
The contestants are competing for the same crown, but the boot camp has also given them an opportunity to develop friendships along the way.
Sophie Asianzu, one of the finalists, said the break was particularly welcome after the intensity of the training period.
“Training season is tough, and I am glad that I get the chance to unwind and dance my stress away, have fun with the girls, and recharge for the grand finale,” Sophie Asianzu said.
The Miss Uganda 2026 finalists have been undergoing training, rehearsals and other activities as they prepare for the grand finale scheduled for October 10.
The Girls’ Night Out was organised as a break from those preparations, allowing the contestants to relax through entertainment and social interaction.
Roy Ronald Tumwizere, the V&A brand manager, said the event was intended to give the contestants time away from the demands of the competition.
“The boot camp season has been intense. These young women have been challenged physically, mentally and emotionally, so we wanted to give them a moment to step away from the competition, have fun, share moments, and be themselves. Moments like this are a great reminder that as V&A Sherry, we intentionally create spaces where women can connect, recharge and celebrate moments and experiences with those that matter,” Roy said.
V&A Sherry has been involved in the Miss Uganda 2026 journey from the launch and regional contests through to the final stages of the competition.
The partnership between the Miss Uganda Foundation and V&A Sherry is focused on supporting a platform that celebrates women, their ambitions and individuality.
It also provides opportunities for the contestants to interact and build friendships during their Miss Uganda journey.
The Friday night event therefore formed part of the broader partnership, while giving the finalists a chance to enjoy an evening away from their regular boot camp activities.
Murungi Angel Liz, another finalist, described the night as a welcome change after an intense week.
“I expected a crazy night, and yeah, I got served. Having trained intensely throughout this week, this night out has really been nice,” she said.
The entertainment programme helped create a relaxed setting for the contestants, with music and dance taking centre stage.
Beyond the performances and dancing, the gathering offered the finalists time to strengthen relationships they have developed during the boot camp.
That social aspect is significant within a competition where the contestants are preparing to face the final stage together while ultimately competing for one crown.
The event also placed attention on the experience of the contestants themselves, rather than only the competition ahead.
For V&A Sherry, the evening was part of its continued involvement in the Miss Uganda 2026 journey.
The focus now shifts back to the final stage of preparations for the Miss Uganda grand finale.
The finale is scheduled for October 10, when one of the finalists will be crowned the new Miss Uganda.
The public can also vote for their preferred contestant through Africa Votes as the competition moves towards the final event.
The available information does not confirm the venue or detailed programme for the grand finale.
It also does not provide the voting deadline or further details about the voting process beyond the reference to Africa Votes.
With the finalists having used the Girls’ Night Out to relax and recharge, their attention now returns to the preparations leading to the October 10 event.
For the Miss Uganda 2026 finalists, the evening at the V&A Sherry Girls’ Night Out offered a brief pause from competition pressure before the final stage of the journey towards the Miss Uganda crown.
