A joyful atmosphere filled Kampala as hundreds of newly elected Members of Parliament gathered at Protea Hotel to celebrate the 52nd birthday of Muhoozi Kainerugaba at an event organized by the Patriotic League of Uganda.
During the gathering, PLU Vice Chairman Michael Nuwagira congratulated the MPs on their election victories and thanked them for attending.
“We congratulate Gen Muhoozi on reaching 52 years and we thank all MPs who came to celebrate this important day,” said Nuwagira.
He reminded them that although they had won their seats, greater responsibilities lie ahead, urging them to remain disciplined, patient, and committed to serving the people who elected them.
Mr. Nuwagira used the occasion to highlight the values that guide the Patriotic League of Uganda, explaining that the group strongly believes in patriotism and discipline as the foundation for national growth.
“The spirit of patriotism must be lived in action, not just spoken,” he said.
He encouraged the lawmakers to carry these values into every part of their work and personal lives.
He stressed that true patriotism is shown through actions that build and protect the nation.
He further added that unity among leaders would be key in handling the heavy responsibilities ahead.
“Discipline and dedication will help you succeed in serving the people,” he said.
The dinner also served as a moment to appreciate individuals who played important roles in recent political activities.
Special thanks were extended to Peter Ogwang, who chaired the organizing committee, along with his team, for ensuring the event was well planned and successfully executed.
“We thank Hon. Peter Ogwang and his team for the excellent organization of this gathering,” one of the speakers noted.
The organizers were praised for their hard work in bringing together hundreds of guests and ensuring that the celebration ran smoothly from start to finish.
As the night went on, attention turned to the Guest of Honor, Anita Among, who was commended for her role in supporting party activities and traveling across different regions to mobilize support.
“We appreciate the Speaker for her dedication and commitment in mobilizing across the country,” another speaker said.
She was described as one of the most dedicated leaders.
Speakers credited collective teamwork for the strong election performance, including the reported 71 percent victory.
While the dinner was mainly meant to celebrate the birthday of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, it also created space to remind guests about upcoming activities linked to the celebration.
Organizers informed attendees about a planned run scheduled for Sunday and urged them to take part in large numbers.
“We call upon everyone to come out in big numbers for the run on Sunday,” organizers said.
The call was met with excitement, as many attendees expressed willingness to participate.
Before the evening ended, guests were asked to raise their glasses in a toast.
“To 52 years of Gen Muhoozi,” they said in unison.
The room filled with applause, smiles, and messages of unity, patriotism, and optimism for the future.
