Ugandan singer Latinum, whose real name is Tonny Mbangira, has found himself at the center of controversy after being arrested following a road accident in Kampala that has since sparked allegations of theft.
The musician was reportedly involved in a collision along Nsambya Road on Wednesday, an incident that attracted the attention of motorists, pedestrians, and law enforcement officers.
According to information obtained from sources familiar with the matter, the accident involved a Mercedes-Benz whose owner later accused the singer of stealing valuables that allegedly disappeared shortly after the crash.
The complainant claims that cash amounting to Shs2 million and a laptop computer could not be traced following the incident.
The allegations prompted police officers who had responded to the accident scene to take immediate action.
Latinum was subsequently arrested and transported to Kirombe Police Station, where he is currently being held as investigations continue.
