Diamond Platnumz Hints at Uganda Collaboration After Years of Unreleased Songs

Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz says he could finally release a collaboration with a Ugandan artist by the end of 2026 or in 2027, after several recording projects with musicians from the country failed to reach the public.

The Wasafi boss made the revelation during a press conference in Kampala on Thursday evening, shortly after arriving in Uganda ahead of a performance.

Diamond said he had recorded music with more Ugandan artists than musicians from any other country but was yet to release any of the collaborations.

He attributed the delays to timing rather than disagreements between the artists, adding that he remained hopeful that one of the projects would eventually come out.

“Honestly, it’s just God and timing because I have done more songs with different artists from here than I’ve done with any artists from any other country. Unfortunately, none of those songs are out yet. And between the respective artists and me, no one can blame the other because it’s just a matter of timing.”

The revelation offers a fresh update on Diamond Platnumz’s long-discussed interest in working with Ugandan musicians, although he did not identify the artist behind the anticipated release.

The Tanzanian singer said he believes the repeated delays could eventually lead to a bigger musical project, potentially giving Uganda and Tanzania another opportunity to connect through music.

He suggested that the relationship between the two countries could provide a foundation for a collaboration with international appeal.

“Maybe God plans something very big because Tanzania and Uganda have a good history. Maybe god plans a very big global song coz we’ve been working, but every time we try, things come in between. But maybe next year or at the end of this year, we may have a song out. I’ve always wanted to have a song with an artist here.”

His remarks point to a possible release before the end of 2026 or sometime in 2027, but he did not give a specific date or confirm whether the song would involve one of the artists he has previously recorded with.

Over the years, Diamond Platnumz has been linked to possible collaborations with several Ugandan musicians, including Spice Diana, Fik Fameica and Gloria Bugie.

Those names have featured in previous discussions about the possibility of the Tanzanian singer working with Ugandan artists, but none of the reported projects has been confirmed as the collaboration he now expects to release.

Diamond’s latest comments also do not establish whether the three musicians are among those with whom he has already recorded.

His statement that he has worked with more Ugandan artists than musicians from any other country suggests that the unreleased material involves several recording sessions, although he did not reveal the identities of everyone involved.

For Ugandan musicians, a collaboration with the Wasafi boss would offer an opportunity to connect with audiences beyond the local market.

Diamond’s interest in working with an artist from Uganda also reflects the cross-border connections that continue to shape East African music.

However, the singer’s expectation of a major international song remains his own prediction rather than a confirmed outcome.

For now, fans will have to wait for further details about the anticipated Diamond Platnumz Uganda collaboration.

The singer has indicated that a release could happen before the end of this year or in 2027, but the identity of the Ugandan artist remains undisclosed.

There is also no confirmation that any of the previously rumoured collaborations with Spice Diana, Fik Fameica or Gloria Bugie will be released.

What is clear from his Kampala remarks is that Diamond remains interested in working with Ugandan musicians, despite several previous recording projects failing to materialise.

After years of unreleased songs, the possibility of a Diamond Platnumz Uganda collaboration has once again come into focus, with fans waiting to see whether the singer’s latest promise will finally produce a song they can hear.
